- Arkansas strands Justin Thomas Jr. on third as Wehiwa Aloy strikes out to end the inning. It’s been a rough weekend for Aloy with eight strikeouts. LSU coach Jay Johnson was ejected arguing balls and strikes during Thomas’ at-bat.
Seventh Inning
- LSU got a runner to third after a two-out walk and a pair of wild pitches, but Cole Gibler struck out John Perason to end the inning and keep the 5-3 lead intact.
- Cam Kozeal reached with a two-out single, but that was all for Arkansas’ offense in the seventh. They’ve reached the stretch with the Hogs leading 5-3. Gibler is staying on the bump for the seventh. Big spot for the freshman against LSU’s two-three-four hitters.
Sixth Inning
- Cole Gibler strikes out Derek Curiel to end the inning. Arkansas leads LSU 5-3 through six frames.
- Christian Foutch gets two outs and the gives up a single to Chris Stanfield. Dave Van Horn is going to freshman Cole Gibler for a lefty-lefty matchup against freshman Derek Curiel.

- Chase Shores gets Kuhio Aloy to fly out, and the Hogs strand two runners. It’s 4-3 entering the bottom of the fourth.
- LSU has decided to bring in a new pitcher as they have runners on first and second with two outs. Chase Shores comes into the game relieving Case Evan, ready to take on Kuhio Aloy under pressure-filled circumstances.

- After giving up a leadoff single to Landon Beidelschies, Arkansas turns to its relief pitchers. With a baserunner on and still no one out, Dylan Carter comes into the game.
- Arkansas immediately responds with four runs and leads LSU 4-2. Wehiwa Aloy’s sacrifice fly got Arkansas on the board before a two-out rally. Ryder Helfrick drove in one with a double and Cam Kozeal hit a two-run single up the middle. Landon Beidelschies will come back out to pitch the third with a two-run lead.
Second Inning
- Luis Hernandez and Stephen Milam both smashed solo home runs as the Tigers took a commanding 2-0 advantage over Arkansas. During this period, the Razorbacks suffered through an extremely tough 15-minute span.
- A walk to Kuhio Aloy and a double from Ryder Helfrick put runners on second and third with no outs, but the Hogs could not get the game’s first run. Cam Kozeal lined out to first, Brent Iredale struck out and Rocco Peppi grounded out to the third baseman as Casan Evans escapes unscathed.
First Inning
- Landon Beidelschies strikes out a pair of batters and strands a runner on third to ensure it’s a scoreless first inning for both offenses.
- Casan Evans faces the minimum with a pair of strikeouts in the first. Charles Davalan reached first base on a strike-three wild pitch, but the inning ended on a double play off the bat of Carson Boles. There were some rough at-bats that inning from the Hogs.
Pregame

Game 2
Seventh Inning
-
FINAL: LSU 13, Arkansas 3.
The Tigers end things on a strike-three wild pitch. Hogs lose their fourth series in the last five weekends and now need a win Sunday to avoid their first sweep in two years. - Arkansas scores three runs to keep this game alive. Justin Thomas Jr., Charles Davalan and Logan Maxwell all drove in runs, while Wehiwa Aloy and Kuhio Aloy couldn’t produce productive at-bats with runners in scoring position. It’s 12-3 LSU heading to the bottom half.
Sixth Inning
- Arkansas finally keeps LSU off the scoreboard. It’s 12-0 as they head to the seventh. The Tigers need just three outs for the mercy-rule win.
Fifth Inning
- It’s officially a blowout. LSU strikes for six runs and leads 12-0, putting Arkansas in danger of suffering its first run-rule defeat of the year. Ethan Frey capped the inning off with a three-run homer to right field, and Arkansas is just trying to get through this game without using any top options out of the bullpen.
Fourth Inning
- LSU has scored a run in every inning, and a bases-loaded walk in the fourth extends the Tigers’ lead to 6-0. An error by Brent Iredale made the run unearned.
Third Inning
- The gap widens further. Jake Brown started the inning with his second homer of the game. The Tigers hold a 5-0 advantage after three innings.
- With the bases loaded and only one out, Wehiwa Aloy and Logan Maxwell each strike out to conclude the inning for Arkansas. Despite facing initial difficulties, Anthony Eyanson manages to work through them as the Hogs fall behind 4-0. Now, Arkansas turns to their bullpen, calling upon Ben Bybee to take over from Gage Wood.
Second Inning
- After hitting a solo homerun, Cade Arrambide helps LSU take a 4-0 lead. Gage Wood isn’t exhibiting his usual mastery over his fastball today, and the Tigers are capitalizing on his errors with impressive swings.
First Inning
- The Hogs find themselves in an early deficit. Jake Brown hammered a poorly placed curveball during an 0-2 count, sending a three-run home run out to right field. LSU takes the lead against Arkansas with a score of 3-0, which isn’t how the Razorbacks envisioned starting their game with pitcher Gage Wood.
- Anthony Eyanson sets Arkansas down in quick order. The Tigers are coming to bat in the bottom of the first against Gage Wood.
Pregame
- Reese Robinett and Ryder Helfrick swap places in the lineup, but there are no other changes for Arkansas tonight. Gage Wood is on the bump as the Hogs look to avoid a series loss. It’ll be a tall task against LSU’s Anthony Eyanson.
Game 1

Game two is scheduled for tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. - Arkansas strands the bases loaded and is 1-for-9 on the night with runners in scoring position. Reese Robinett couldn’t hold a check swing for the final out of the inning.

- They’re heading to extra innings. Gabe Gaeckle allows a one-out single but works another scoreless inning. The meat of the Hogs’ lineup is due up in the 10th.
- A two-out single from Justin Thomas Jr. is all the Hogs can muster in the ninth. LSU comes to bat needing just one run for a walk-off victory.
Eighth Inning
- Gabe Gaeckle needs just nine pitches to retire LSU in order. It’s 4-4 as they head to the ninth.
- Three up and three down for Arkansas. The Tigers have the momentum after erasing the two-run deficit in the previous inning.
Seventh Inning
- A two-run single from Derek Curiel ties the score at 4-4. Aiden Jimenez walked two batters, allowed two runs and only recorded one out before Arkansas summoned Gabe Gaeckle from the bullpen. Gaeckle got two strikeouts to end the inning and strand a pair of LSU base runners, but the damage was done. It’s a brand new game heading to the eighth.
- Arkansas adds a run and will carry a 4-2 lead into the stretch. Justin Thomas led off the inning with a single and eventually scored on an RBI groundout from Wehiwa Aloy. The Hogs did a nice job of manufacturing a run, and Zach Root’s night is done as Arkansas turns to Aiden Jimenez out of the bullpen.
Sixth Inning
- In another scoreless inning, Zach Root manages despite facing a base hit with one out. Cam Kozeal makes an impressive sliding catch at second for the game’s second out. The Hogs maintain their narrow advantage of 3-2 heading into the seventh. Now having thrown 91 pitches, it remains to be seen whether Root will continue pitching into the next half-inning.
- Kuhio Aloy smashes his 13th homerun this season, giving Arkansas a 3-2 advantage with a solo shot. Following suit, Kade Anderson secures two additional outs before signaling to the coach and departing due to what seems like a wrist issue. Despite striking out 10 hitters, the LSU southpaw could end up with the loss as they move into the bottom of the sixth inning.
Fifth Inning
- Zach Root needs 11 pitches to set the Tigers down in order. The Arkansas lefty has thrown just 70 pitches on the night. Kade Anderson is already up to 99, but he’s coming back out for the sixth inning in a 2-2 game.
- Ryder Helfrick starts the inning with a double and later scores on a sacrifice fly hit by Charles Davalan. Despite having a baserunner in scoring position with one out, Arkansas failed to capitalize as Wehiwa Aloy and Logan Maxwell struck out. The game is now knotted up at 2-2.
Fourth Inning
- After just one pitch, LSU reclaimed the lead. Ethan Frey hit a line-drive home run over the fence in right field, leaving Arkansas trailing 2-1 as they entered the fifth inning.
- Cam Kozeal hits his 12th home run of the season and ties the score at 1-1. Kozeal leads the SEC with 39 RBIs in conference games this spring.
Third Inning
- LSU takes an early lead when Chris Stanfield hits a leadoff double, followed by Jared Jones bringing him home with a soft single to right field a couple of batters later. As they move into the fourth inning, the Hogs find themselves trailing 1-0.
- A one-out single from Wehiwa Aloy is washed away as Logan Maxwell grounds into an inning-ending double play. It’s 0-0 heading to the bottom of the third.
Second Inning
- Zach Root escapes a major jam to keep the game scoreless. LSU had runners on the corners with one out and tried a safety squeeze, but Root fielded the bunt and tagged Ethan Frey out at home plate. The lefty was out of the inning one batter later.
- Ryder Helfrick reaches with a two-out single, but Kade Anderson strikes out the side in the top of the second. It’s still 0-0 as they head to the bottom half of the inning.
First Inning
- Zach Root sets the Tigers down in order with a pair of strikeouts in the first.
- Arkansas strands runners on the corners. Cam Kozeal struck out to end the inning after Charles Davalan led things off with a double and Kuhio Aloy walked with two outs. Still, the Hogs forced Kade Anderson to throw 24 pitches in the first.
Pregame
- Arkansas’ starting lineup is below. Logan Maxwell returns after missing the previous five games with a nagging hamstring injury. Reese Robinett keeps his starting spot at first base, even with LSU starting a lefty on the mount. It should be an excellent pitching matchup tonight between southpaws Zach Root and Kade Anderson.
New start time announced
- First pitch between the Razorbacks and Tigers will be at 9:55 p.m. CT.
Weather Delay
- Friday night’s series opener will not start at 6:30 p.m., according to a social media post from LSU. There is no updated start time.
