CARROLLTON — Those going to the Greene County Fair on Thursday are in for a new treat this year as they are entertained with a concert.

While Thursday’s have been know to host monster trucks, this year they will see a performance from Matt Jordan, featuring Hunter Clark.

Fair Board Secretary Mark Walker said they replaced the monster trucks with a concert this year to see if it gathered interest from the community.

“We are going to give a concert at try,” Walker said. “We thought we would do something different and try to get more people to come out and enjoy the fair.”

Jordan is a upcoming country performer.

“We hope we’ll have a good reception for this and it brings more people out to the fair on a Thursday night,” Walker said. “We’ll try it and see how it goes.”

The fair will also include some of its traditional activities, including its demolition derby on Saturday and tractor pulls on Friday, in addition to its FFA and 4-H livestock shows.

There will also be a nightly carnival after 5 p.m. each day through Saturday. Armbands are $25. A matinee carnival will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Armbands for that will be $15.

Tuesday night, the fair crowned its 2025 royalty, naming Naomi Lansaw as Miss Greene County Fair. Junior Miss Greene County Fair is Jade Range and Little Miss Greene County Fair is Hemi Swarringin.

Gate admission is $5 per person 5 and up each day. Concert seating is $15. Admission for the Truck and Tractor Pulls and Demolition Derby are $10 for general admission or $20 for pit passes.

“We are just trying to make the fair bigger and better each year,” Walker said. “We hope to get as much support from the community as possible. One year’s fair puts on the next year’s fair.”
