Health Secretary RFK Jr. criticized for endorsing raw milk after MAHA report
Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK) recently gathered
a group of health influencers
for an event at the White House to unveil his commission’s “Make America Healthy Again” report.
Despite the
White House acknowledging some errors
within its 72 pages, the report alleges that “today’s children are the sickest generation in American history regarding the chronic disease,” b
laming such illnesses on substandard nutrition
, lifestyle choices, and exposure to environmental chemicals.
Animatedly sharing his Washington, D.C. experience, Dr. Paul Saladino, an advocate for animal-based diets, exclaimed on social media. “I am in D.C. for the big announcement of the MAHA chronic disease report. I’ve got a raw milk smoothie in here that is raw milk, blueberries, honey, and raw meat actually. We’re taking America back, guys,” he said.

Following the publication of the controversial report, RFK sat down for a two-hour podcast recording with Saladino, both indulging in glasses of unpasteurized milk swirled with glyphosate-free honey.
In a teaser, Saladino, also known as Carnivore MD, shared a clip of the interview on X, captioned: “Raw milk shooters at the @WhiteHouse with @RobertKennedyJr.”
In a pointed remark, Saladino underscored the fact that the duo’s dairy shot was untainted by glyphosate-a chemical he underscores is notably absent in their beverage but typically present in pesticides, which Kennedy contends is linked to the surge in chronic diseases among kids.
However, one physician, who spotted a post of the pair downing raw milk shots on X, was not amused by their raw milk festivity. “You just can’t make this stuff up. The head of the U.S. Health and Human Services celebrates the release of its fraudulent report with a ‘health influencer’ by consuming a product deemed dangerous by the agencies it oversees. Make it make sense,” family doctor Noela Aboelata penned.
A recent surge in raw milk enthusiasm among individuals like Kennedy has ignited a new faction of the anti-science movement linked to MAGA.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cautioned in a March 2024 advisory that “raw milk can contain a variety of disease-causing pathogens, as demonstrated by numerous scientific studies.”
While there is no significant evidence to support the health benefits of unpasteurized milk, the potential hazards are well-documented. Drinking raw milk can expose individuals to severe health risks, including infections with the H5N1 avian influenza virus, E. coli, and Salmonella.
From 2009 to 2014, raw milk and cheese, consumed by only 3.2 percent and 1.6 percent of the U.S. population respectively, were responsible for a whopping 96 percent of dairy-related illnesses, according to a 2017 study published in Emerging Infectious Diseases, a peer-reviewed journal from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Before the widespread adoption of commercial pasteurization in urban areas in the early 1900s, milk-related diseases such as diphtheria, tuberculosis, and various gastrointestinal infections posed substantial public health threats.
