KBS Impress With New K-Drama Lineup Starring Ma Dong Seok, Lee Jae Wook and more
K-drama fans better clear out their weekend schedules.
Ma Dong Seok
,
Lee Young Ae
,
Lee Jae Wook
, and more stars will meet viewers through KBS’s Saturday-Sunday drama lineup for the second half of this year.
According to IZE’s coverage on May 21st, KBS will enrich viewers’ weekend home theaters by scheduling weekend dramas starting with Twelve in August. The drama revolves around 12 angels who protect Korea from evil spirits. Ma Dong Seok will play Tae San, the leader of the angels who symbolizes the tiger spirit. The thriller is scheduled to premiere on August 23rd. The broadcast time is currently under final discussion for 9:20 PM, after the weekend dramas on KBS 2TV.
Going forward, KBS will temporarily suspend its Wednesday-Thursday drama time slots and focus on Saturday-Sunday drama schedules after the first broadcast of The First Night With The Duke, a period romance starring
Seohyun
and
Ok Taecyeon
on June 11th. As a result, this heart-warming drama will be the last KBS Wednesday-Thursday drama of the year.
KBS kept their promise to fill your weekends with more addictive K-Drama content with shows like Good Day, Eunsoo (working title) starring Lee Young Ae and
Last
Summer (working title) starring Lee Jae Wook and
Choi Sung Eun
. In addition, Dear Bandit (working title) starring
Nam Ji Hyun
and
Moon Sang Min
, which began production in the first half of this year, is scheduled to release as the first Saturday-Sunday drama of January 2026.
Not only are there various dramas to enjoy, but the plentiful storylines can satisfy many viewers. Good Day, Eunsoo is a scandalous story of a secret and dangerous relationship between a parent and a teacher that started by chance. Flirty, fun and risky. Last Summer is a slow romantic piece that will warm up your winter. Staying on theme, an ice-queen-like woman who hates summer and a man who waits for summer every day become an oddly befitting couple.
Lastly, Dear Bandit is a quirky romantic comedy also blending historical elements. A woman who accidentally becomes a thief and a self-proclaimed Joseon detective switches bodies and, somehow, finds love along the way.
KBS is raising the bar high and has amply built up expectations from fans! With such a quality lineup and plethora of content on the way, will they outshine powerhouse content creators like Netflix and Disney Plus?
