fresh and youthful appearance

is due to a face lift.

In a recent interview, the 38-year-old

Mean Girls

actress shared details of her

skincare routine

and teased plans to launch her own beauty line. She said she drinks a juice made of carrot, ginger, lemon, olive oil and apple every morning, as well as green tea and “a lot of water” throughout the day.

Lindsay

said she also loves pickled beets and puts them “in almost everything.” Revealing that she is working on her own skincare line, the mom-of-one said she is testing the products on herself which is “taking a long time because I’m very specific, because I’m crazy about my skin and health.”

She added, “Also, I’m a big believer in ice-cold water on your face when you wake up. I drink lemon juice a lot; I also put tons of chia seeds in my water. Eye patches, I do every morning. I’m into lasers.”

However, she admitted that not every treatment has worked for her, as after trying Morpheus8 she realized her skin “was too thin.” Lindsay said that since having her son, her skin “got really sensitive” which made her change her “whole routine and diet and everything.”

During her interview for the cover of

Elle magazine

, Lindsay, who now lives in Dubai with her husband Bader Shammas and their son Luai, also addressed rumors she has undergone plastic surgery. “Everyone does Botox,” she admitted, before her publicist stepped in to point out double standards in Hollywood.

“You know what the problem is with you being beautiful women – the second she looks any different, they assume she had her face lifted at 37 or 38, that she ripped apart this or that. It’s so mean,” the publicist said. On the face lift rumors, Lindsay said, “I’m like, when? With what time? Where?”

Her publicist then added, “Yeah, I tried to figure that out, Linds, in the last three years, when you had time to do anything, because I know your schedule. So the haters can hate and be jealous. It just sucks that that’s where they go with women in today’s world. Women can’t just look good to look good and change their lifestyle to be more healthy.” Lindsay continued, “You just have to do it and ignore everyone else.”

Lindsay also said she is looking forward to more work following her three-film contract with Netflix, which produced Falling for Christmas, Irish Wish and Our Little Secret. “I always want to make movies like that – things that make people happy and bring people together,” she told Elle.

“I love making movies for that reason – for people to escape and find something that they can take into their own life and realize everything’s going to be okay. But with Netflix, I was like, ‘Okay, now we need to be thinking about other stuff.’ I can’t do movies like these forever.”
