The subject comes up when

Jessi Ngatikaura

brings back the notorious truth box to aid in discussions that can clarify matters. A viewer subsequently posed a question to her, which read: “Were you concerned that Demi might have been ready to sign a larger contract even if it implied your removal from the program?”

She chuckles, gazing upward at Demi, who is similarly amused, and remarks, “We can’t escape from this situation.”

At the confession booth, Jessi reveals that “A few months back, Demi and I experienced a significant rift. Our bond was truly shaken up due to some conflict over finances.”

The other cast members recount their versions of events during their individual confessionals, with Mayci stating, “Demi was essentially ready for Jessi to leave the show so she could potentially earn more money herself.”

Taylor says, “Jessi comes out and says, ‘Actually, I’m not gonna walk, so you can walk to me, but I’m not.’ ”

“For me, I just said in my head, ‘I don’t want money to come between all of us,’ and I know I was on another way of thinking,” Jessi explains.

Taylor then reveals that, “Demi got on a whole other call with MomTok.” She continues, “Demi’s like, ‘Yeah, f— Jessi at this point. Let’s push her to the side.’ She was talking mad s—.”

Answering the truth box question in the scene, Jessi tells the group, “I also know I’m in a situation that’s different than everyone.”

Mikayla jokes, “I think if I was a millionaire, I wouldn’t care either.”

Explaining her side of it in a confessional, Demi says, “Jessi sits on an empire of this hair business and does really well financially, so it felt a little selfish to me.”

The emotions were running strong, and I got that she felt that way,” Jessi tells the girls. “Also, I don’t believe, though I might be mistaken, that her intention was to specifically get rid of me just so she could receive a bigger salary.

In a confessional, Taylor doubles down on how the move gave her “a bad taste in my mouth, given that’s her “best friend.” At dinner the next night, Whitney brings up the situation again and asks for Demi to explain more about what happened there.

Jessi began, “It was a call with our lawyers and managers. I literally got on and I heard Bret and I was like, ‘Wait a minute, I don’t want you speaking for me.’ ”

“We had had a mutual understanding that we were going to come in fighting for everything as a united front, and we felt like she dogged us and went around us like, ‘I’m going to get whatever I want,’ ” Demi added. “So we were like, at that point, ‘Okay, f— it, we’re going to do the same thing.'”

Taylor says they “deserve to fight for more,” with Whitney chiming in, “Yeah, but not to [fight to] kick out.” This leads to Taylor sharing that she’s been told by multiple that Demi says she “deserves bigger brand deals” than her costars.

Demi denies saying it, but Jessi chimes in to say she’s heard the same. Whitney agrees. “It’s not a shock that I was a fan favorite,” Demi replies, adding, “I feel like I’m an asset. I should fight for more.”

Taylor dismisses that idea in a confessional, saying, “Demi wasn’t even originally going to be cast for the show. Do you really think you’re the star? Nah, I don’t agree with that.”

“In what world are you putting yourself on this pedestal? What makes you that person? Yes, MomTok is a business, but it’s a lot more than that. It’s a sisterhood. It’s a support system. However, I think Demi has [let] the money side and greed go to her head so that comes first and everyone can fend for themselves, and that, to me, is not a genuine friendship at all.”

At the dinner, Taylor tells her, “No offense, but you would have never had this opportunity without me.”

“No, I understand that,” Demi says. Taylor goes on to explain that she made the opportunity possible and has been “the most vulnerable” of all the women, to the detriment of her mental health.

Some people who aren’t as transparent and don’t share what’s really happening behind closed doors shouldn’t earn more money since they lack vulnerability. They’re just stirring up drama around the dining table without showing true openness. The real struggle is mine because I’m exposed to the whole wide world. If anyone deserves the highest pay, it should be me, but I’ve never demanded such compensation.

Demi admits, “My mistake was considering removing her from my life, which stemmed from our relationship being in a terrible state at the time.”

Although Demi claims she doesn’t wish to see anyone leave MomTok, she changes her stance following the CMA controversy with Taylor, stating that her actions on social media have become a “liability.”

Afterward, Layla is at a branding photoshoot with Taylor where she shares that although Demi has some legitimate concerns, she’s going overboard. Layla also mentions that Demi questioned her about the payment amount for this very photoshoot.

I haven’t replied to her texts since I remember the lesson we all learned with Demi regarding money; it’s best not to mention it as she tends to react poorly.

At the “Saints and Sinners” event, Demi and Taylor clash with each other. Following this encounter, Taylor remarks in a confessional segment that Demi has forgotten the main purpose of MomTok.

“MomTok is supposed to be sisterhood and support and genuine friendships. However, I think Demi has let the money side and greed go to her head. Yes, MomTok is a business, but its much more than that. I’m not scared of her, but she’s a scary girl, if that makes sense. And we all need to be aware.”
