Democrats Merkley and Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts wrote to the Office of Government Ethics Acting Director Jamieson Greer to voice their concerns about the deal earlier this month.

They mentioned that the agreement had the potential to bring “hundreds of millions of dollars” to both the Trump and Witkoff families.”

“The potential for fraud – where the Trump Administration grants benefits to entities like the UAE or Binance in return for substantial payments from them – is staggering,” according to the senators.
