Ohio State lands commitment from Myles Herro, 2025 PG and brother of NBA’s Tyler Herro
Myles Herro, a three-star point guard prospect in the class of 2025, has committed to
Ohio State
.
The 6-foot-3, 165-pound native of Milwaukee
could provide added depth to the Buckeyes’ backcourt
as a freshman for the 2025-26 season. He held scholarship offers from Southern Illinois, Cal Poly and Western Illinois and was rated as the No. 40 point guard in the nation and No. 10 player from Wisconsin in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.com.

“I felt like Ohio State was a great opportunity for me to get better, get stronger, and compete against some of the top guards in the country,” he said.
As a senior, Herro averaged 22 points, seven assists and five rebounds per game while being named first-team all-conference and all-area at Milwaukee Whitnall.
“I envision my role as doing whatever it takes to help the team win, whether that’s bringing energy from the bench or making plays on the court,” Herro said. “I just want to contribute to winning in any way I can.”
Herro comes from a basketball family. His oldest brother, Tyler, starred during his one season at the University of Kentucky and was taken with the No. 13 pick in the 2019 draft. He has spent the last six seasons with the
Miami Heat
. Myles Herro’s other older brother, Austin, played for South Carolina for two years before transferring to St. Thomas during the spring.
While Tyler Herro was at Kentucky, he played for assistant coach Joel Justus, who is now Ohio State coach Jake Diebler’s associate head coach. Myles Herro also established a relationship with Justus and is excited to play for him, calling it “a blessing.”
“He pushes his players to be better every day and genuinely wants the best for us, both on and off the court,” Myles Herro said.
He will have four years of eligibility and joins the roster a few days after
Dorian Jones, a four-star 2025 guard from Richmond Heights, Ohio, announced that he would not be enrolling at Ohio State
. Jones is likely to attend a prep school this year for academic reasons.
