After Mercedes got a cheer for name-dropping Eddie Guerrero in the late legend’s hometown of El Paso, she was back to heeling by declaring herself greater than Latino Heat or any other legend. She didn’t get too far before Timeless Toni Storm made her entrance for the first promo exchange between the two wrestlers who will fight for Storm’s AEW Women’s World title on July 12 in Arlington.

After the champ laid the belt on the mat between them, the segment started off in solid-but-unremarkable fashion. Both women praised the other and hyped their upcoming match. Business picked after Mercedes dropped her “I’m the Beyoncé of women’s wrestling line”, with Toni retorting that she’s “the Toni Storm of women’s wrestling”, swearing “to an unknown god that you’ve never met anyone like me”.


There were references to their pasts on the indies, and with WWE. At one point Moné said she’s no longer a Boss. The champ delivered a fiery speech about Mercedes collecting belts while she only needs one, and reminded us of what she’d been through to get and keep it. The, being Toni, she delivered a taunt in the form of sexual innuendo… and gave us the rare instance of the Timeless One nearly breaking when she said…


She wasn’t done. Storm followed up by talking about how “a little girl with big dreams” will watch their All In Texas match and say, “holy shit, these bitches are crazy”… which Mercedes looked like she really wanted to laugh at. The CEO held it together though, and managed to continue doing so while Toni sniffed her neck and kissed her hand. Moné tried for a sneak attack to close the segment, but Storm reversed before the TBS champ got free and bailed.
