Citizen Donald Trump laid out numerous pledges regarding his actions should he regain the presidency. However, as president, Trump has failed to fulfill many items from that extensive agenda, with several likely remaining unmet indefinitely.

He assured everyone he would bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine prior to assuming his role. Likewise, he pledged to conclude the fighting in Gaza. His commitments also included reducing federal expenditures by $2 trillion. Additionally, he vowed to dismantle what’s referred to as the Deep State, abolish taxes on Social Security benefits, and provide free fertility treatments like IVF.

It didn’t work out. Not even once. At least up until now.

There’s an overused saying that campaigns are waged in verse and governance proceeds in straightforward language, yet Trump’s confrontation with reality has been far sharper compared to his more recent predecessors. His tax cuts

agenda

He finds himself precariously positioned at the Capitol since his requests are clashing with the difficulties posed by a slim Republican majority. Additionally, his other political pledges remain stagnant because he’s discovering that even his substantial pressure tactics have their boundaries.

On Trump’s list of assurances, the entries are plentiful. For example, he claimed that Russian hostility toward Ukraine would vanish instantly upon his election. “Even before I step into the Oval Office, right after I secure the presidency, I will have resolved the terrible conflict between Russia and Ukraine,” Trump declared to listeners in Detroit last August.

off that bold prediction: “Obviously, people know that when I said that, it was said in jest, but it was also said that it will be ended.”

These days, it’s a much different tune, as he’s expressed frustration and even some surprise at Vladimir Putin’s unwillingness to compromise. On Wednesday, as he was flying to Qatar on a tour of the Middle East, Trump told reporters he was

Although Trump deserves recognition for advancements in Gaza—where the latest living U.S. hostage was released this week—he also faces criticism.

While posting full-capitalization vows for a balanced budget on social media might be simple, delivering on those promises proves far more challenging. Even with robust attempts to reduce federal expenditures via the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), this entity has failed to come anywhere near meeting the stringent cost-reduction goals set forth by billionaire presidential advisor Elon Musk. Every politician makes pledges they likely realize cannot be fulfilled; however, with Trump, it remains uncertain whether he understands that his agenda is unrealistic or which policies the general populace genuinely desired from him. This ambiguity complicates the assessment of his accomplishments. Numerous voters found Trump’s commitments to target his political adversaries disheartening.

As Trump approaches the four-month milestone since regaining power, it might be beneficial to pause from the constant stream of daily controversies and online hostility to evaluate what actions he has truly taken versus those he hasn’t. Despite recent events giving an impression of rapid change at the White House, several major promises remain unfulfilled and show no indication of progress.
